We’re so excited to welcome Megan Brabham (she/her) to the Clique team as a design intern. With experience in visual communication and printmaking, Megan recently graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). She’s a chocolate chip cookie fan, an amateur chef, and, above all, a creative. Here are some other things you should know about her…

So, what brought you to Clique?

“I just finished up at SAIC and was looking for a design agency that could help me continue to grow and learn new things. When I found Clique, I was immediately excited by the work. Then, once I actually met people who worked here, I knew it would be a good fit for me.”

What are you most excited about being here?

“Honestly, the work that people have done and are doing now. It’s all so impressive. Oh, and learning how to use all of the different design tools in the digital industry—like Sketch.”

Okay, so now some fun ones. What does your ideal weekend look like?

“Really rainy. Really cold. Freshly made chocolate chip cookies and a few really dramatic or really scary movies.”

Something you do to make your day a little bit better?

“I usually try to cook when I get home. Even when I’m tired, it’s always the goal. My go-to is parmesan risotto. I taught myself how to make it and it’s pretty easy.”

Am I the only one impressed that her too-tired-to-cook-a-full-meal meal is PARMESAN RISOTTO?? Like, c’mon.

Favorite TV show?

“Parks and Rec. I like it because it’s the format of The Office but a little more of a my-brand kinda thing.”

Agreed, such a great show…favorite episode?

“Oh, that’s tough.”

*she laughs*

“Okay, I got it. The one where they’re on the campaign trail with Leslie and they’re in an ice rink and they’re trying to get to the stage but can’t and that song is playing in the background, ‘get on your feet!’ So funny.”

If you could be the best in the world at one thing, what would you choose?

“Whistling. I can’t whistle, not even a little. Multiple people have tried to teach me but I’m a lost cause. And I’ve always thought it would be great to be one of those people who can whistle a whole song.”

Current obsession?

“Bees.”

Okay, explain.

“Recently, I’ve just been interested in everything about them, specifically honey bees. National Geographic did a piece on people who steal bees, and I’ve learned about how some parasites are making them go crazy. It’s just all so interesting because they’re so important to everything—like if they die, it’s over for all of us.”

Speaking of the doom of humanity 😅, any irrational fears?

“I’ve always hated elevators. Moving to the city has been an adjustment. This building too.”

For some context, our Chicago office is in the Fine Arts Building. And, one of the coolest (or—if you’re Megan—most terrifying) things about the building is the manually-operated elevators.

We’re so happy that the elevators didn’t scare you off. Welcome to the team, Megan. We can’t wait to see what you create.
