Zoë Ofomata (she/her) recently joined Clique as a Project Manager. After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University, where she studied Business Administration and International Relations & Politics, Zoë has been in project management for 5+ years. She’s a great communicator, an aspiring chef, and shamelessly very into TikTok. Here’s a bit more from our conversation.

How’s your first few weeks going so far?

“My first weeks have been really good. If anything, it’s confirmed that I made the right choice by joining Clique. Everyone is open and welcoming. I’m learning a lot, but I’m not afraid to ask a question ever. It’s been great.”

Is there anything specific you’re most excited about?

“I’ve never done anything with creative industries, so I’m most excited to learn new things about creative design and development and user experience (UX).”

Now, onto some fun questions…what does your ideal weekend look like?

“A bike ride on the 606, followed by brunch and mimosas.”

Sounds like a balanced weekend to me.

Favorite vacation?

“Italy. I went about four years ago. The food was really good. The culture was awesome. It was great to explore Europe—I’d never been there before. And I went with my mom and my aunt, and I feel like I got closer to them. It was fun. Just overall a top vacation.”

What’s something you do to make your day a little bit better?

“Ummm this is pretty ridiculous, but I like to watch TikTok. I’m kinda obsessed with it. The topics change one minute per video, so whatever was bothering me seems very far in the past—like ‘oh that was five TikToks ago, it’s long gone, I’m over it.’ It gets my mind off of things.”

If you could be the best in the world at one skill, what would it be?

“Race car driving.”

Oh wow, really? To me that just sounds terrifying.

“Yeah, it’d be cool! I like to drive a lot and I like going fast. Imagine if I was not only a great driver but the fastest one out there on the track? So cool.”

Noted: Zoë is more rebellious than me.

What was your first concert?

“It was called the Bamboozle Festival. It was kind of absurd and random, but a lot of fun. It’s actually a great story. In high school, I told my mom that I was going to Boston to look at colleges, but really my best friend and I went to New York to go to the music festival.”

Correction: Zoë is much, much more rebellious than me.

What’s your favorite holiday and why?

“Christmas, because I love that it’s an entire season. Kids get so excited. There’s a great food component. And I love gifts, specifically giving gifts. I’m a good gift giver because I have no ounce of chill in me. I already have a list started for next year—so really, no ounce.”

Finish this sentence: By the end of 2021 I want to…

“…have five good meals that I can cook in my arsenal. I think it would be nice if I helped out in the kitchen.”

And lastly, what are you grateful for today?

“I’m at home in Texas with my family.”

And—with that—we welcome Zoë, the newest addition to our Project Management team. We’re so excited to welcome you and can’t wait to see all the TikToks you share in our slack channel.
