We are so excited to have Ithica Williams join our mighty team of project managers at Clique! She brings years of experience managing projects, a travel resume worthy of envy, and one published book under her belt, with a second on the way. I might be easy to impress, but Ithica has so many experiences to be impressed by. Here are some things I learned about her…

Our new project manager, Ithica Williams

What brought you to Clique?

“I was previously working as a project manager in Michigan, but it wasn’t creative at all. I was looking for a job in Chicago, and Clique’s motto of ‘build something’ really stood out to me as a chance to do more than just talk to clients.”

What does your ideal weekend look like?

“Traveling. I like to travel a lot, my friends and I have a travel Instagram.” Check it out!

“So my ideal weekend would probably be a 3-day weekend, traveling to a beach or maybe a spa weekend.”

If you could have any animal as a pet, what would it be?

“Sloth. They’re lazy and don’t really do much. I could just put some food out, and when I have to leave he’ll only move a little bit.”

A lot of sloth fans in this office.

Final meal…?

“A dry aged ribeye with a kale salad from Houston’s restaurant, maybe some brussel sprouts. And for dessert, apple pie with homemade ice cream on top.”

The specificity here has my stomach growling a bit…

What did you want to be growing up?

“I thought I wanted to be a dentist, but I was just following in the path of my family. My dad has his own dental practice, my mom works there, my sister is a dentist…when I got older I realized it wasn’t my thing. I ended up going to law school, passed the BAR in Tennessee and practiced for a few years. Then I got into tech because I actually wanted to learn how to hack. I did a front-end bootcamp to learn how to make websites and just loved the wow-factor seeing what I could create.”

If you could be the best in the world at one skill but bad at everything else what would that skill be and why?

“Communicating. If you’re good at talking to people, it doesn’t really matter how good you are at anything else.”

What was the last book you recommended?

“I actually write books! They’re fiction, about romance. My first one took me 1 year. I’m writing my second one now and it’s been about a year and a half.”

Preordering 🙂

By the end of 2018 I want to _______?

“Have my second book out, travel to at least to one other country, and, professionally, to learn something new in my field and maybe start practicing coding again.”

Best advice you’ve received?

That’s one wise grandmother. We’re so lucky to have you on the team, Ithica!
