The US Census Bureau’s 2015 findings cite Colorado as the second fastest growing state, with Denver as the fastest growing of the 50 biggest cities in the country. This is the data you’ll come across when you read about Denver: Hundreds of thousands of new jobs, a diverse economy, and the number one spot in Forbes’ 2015 list of best places for business & careers.

Until you experience actually being there, you miss out on one of the most important facets of Denver’s growth right now, which is the energy of the people in the business and technology community. Whether talking with students a few months into learning to code, or the heads of 50+ year old organizations, everyone is excited, and everyone is eager to contribute to Denver’s growth.

That’s a community we want to be a part of.

The Chicago community is more important to Clique than it ever has been. Over the past 5 years we’ve grown 1500%, with each year better than the last for the past decade. What we learned is that our organization grows the right way when we are committed to the community we are a part of, and when that community is going through change.

Denver’s tech startup scene has many of the same ingredients as we’ve experienced in Chicago. Ideas such as Built In Chicago and 1871 turned into massive communities, driven by the excitement and execution of individuals fueled by the energy and growth occurring. Denver has thriving equivalents that can be seen in Built in Colorado, and tech education and workspace facilities like Galvanize.

In Chicago, the energy in the technology startup space impacted enterprise, attracting large established businesses to open offices downtown to capitalize on the innovation this environment breeds. In Denver, we’re seeing the same thing happen. According to Built In Colorado, over 11,000 millennials have relocated to Denver each year since 2006, more than any other US city.

At Clique, our strategy for growth has been “growth through quality,” we shy away from growth for the sake of growth. We’ve always considered the community in Chicago an integral component for the success we’ve had, and discovering another design and technology community with a similar composition of motivated talent, excitement, and change, is why we chose to open our second office in Denver, Colorado.

If you’re in the area, please feel free to reach out as we’d love to connect!
